Could you please tell me if the witness signature page needs to be notarized? — L.A.L., Pennsylvania
We cannot advise you whether a witness’s signature must be notarized on a document. One way you can determine this yourself is by seeing if there is a notarial certificate form below the signature line for the witness. If not and you still want to know, ask the agency or individual who issued the document or will be receiving it after it is notarized.
For additional guidance when a customer is not sure what notarization is required for a signature, please see our article “What notarization is needed”?
You can also read our article about the different types of witnesses who may be involved in a notarization.
