What location do I write for a jurat certificate?

On the jurat certificate where I enter “State of __ and County of ___”, is this meant for the county that my commission is recorded in, or should it be the county that I am in at the time of notarization?S.H., Nevada

It’s the latter. You should always indicate the county where you are performing the notarization in a jurat or other notarial certificate.

Hotline answers are based on the laws in the state where the question originated and may not reflect the laws of other states. If in doubt, always refer to your own state statutes. – The Editors
