Do I need to provide the state with a sample of my Notary seal?

I have renewed my commission in the state of Idaho. I have received my new seal and obtained my bond. Do I need to provide the state with a sample of my seal?C. M., Idaho

No, you are not required to provide the state with a copy of your seal impression.  The Idaho secretary of state’s website indicates: “Once you have purchased your stamping device your commission is complete.”

Hotline answers are based on the laws in the state where the question originated and may not reflect the laws of other states. If in doubt, always refer to your own state statutes. – The Editors
