The next installment of the NNA’s “Commonly Asked Questions” webinar series launches June 29, and will focus on how to perform a “signature by mark” notarization. This webinar is offered at no charge to all Notaries.
A signature by mark notarization occurs when an individual is physically unable to write his or her signature. In these cases, the Notary may still be able to perform a notarization, as long as the signer is able to scribe an “X” or another mark — otherwise known as a “signature by mark.”
The 30-minute webinar will be hosted by Susi Sivkov and will take place on June 29 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 2 p.m. (PST). It will focus on the following topics:
- The Notary’s responsibility during the notarization process
- The circumstances in which you may encounter the need for a signature by mark
- The steps involved in performing a signature by mark notarization
For those unable to register for and attend the live event, the webinar will be made available on demand on Monday, July 2.
