PA House Bill 1429 - House Bill 1429 modifies Pennsylvania’s power of attorney statutes. It allows a power of attorney to be signed by the principal by signature or mark or allows a power to be signed by another individual on behalf of and at the direction of the principal. The bill requires most powers of attorney to be acknowledged before a Notary or notarial officer and allows powers of attorney to be electronically signed. The bill disqualifies the Notary from taking the acknowledgment of a power of attorney if the Notary is the agent or witness to the power of attorney.

CA Senate Bill 1467 - Senate Bill 1467 clarifies that the Notary commission required of persons who are registered as professional photocopiers must be maintained during the entire two-year registration term and requires the professional photocopier to provide an updated valid Notary commission to the county clerk if the prior commission expires before expiration of the two-year registration as a professional photocopier.

NJ Administrative Rule (2014) - The New Jersey State Division of Archives and Records Management has published administrative rules to govern the electronic recording of real property documents. Included in the electronic recording rules is a provision requiring electronic land title documents to be notarized in conformance with the New Jersey Uniform Electronic Transactions Act.

OK House Bill 2576 - House Bill 2576 clarifies that the limitations and requirements applicable to Notaries in notarizing absentee ballots apply only to elections conducted by the State Elections Board or a county elections board.
