Changes
- Provides that effective Friday, April 10, 2020, remote online notarization may be used for notarial acts as valid witness to the execution of documents, if the procedures outlined in A.R.S. 41-371 through 41-380 and rules adopted by the Secretary of State are
followed.
- Provides that the rules (Arizona Administrative Code, Title 2. Administration; Chapter 12. Office of
the Secretary of State, Article 13. Remote Online Notarization) adopted by the Secretary of State must be followed to ensure a secure identity verification process is used through online 
audio-video technology and allow the Notary and signer to converse in real-time as the 
signatures and tamper-proof seals are placed on the electronic document.
- Requires all records of the notarization to be saved and backed up by the Notary in
accordance with the law.
- Provides that the executive order will remain in place until the remote online notarization law enacted last year takes effect on July l, 2020.
