New Mexico State-Required Training and Exam

This course prepares you to pass New Mexico’s State-Required Notary exam.

Course Highlights:

• In lesson 1, we will provide instructions for how to apply to become a Notary. 

• In lesson 2, we’ll look at an overview of the notarization process.

• Lesson 3 you will learn specifics of the different kinds of notarial acts you will be authorized to perform. And,

• In lesson 4 we cover the responsibilities you have as a Notary and what to do if you find yourself in several unique circumstances.

• Lesson 5 covers misconduct, the penalties a Notary may face if they commit misconduct and the protections a Notary has against liability and misconduct

Exam Information:

• You will be given 60 minutes to answer 50 questions.
• The exam must be taken in a single sitting.
• You may skip a question and go back or change an answer. The system will not submit your answers for grading until all questions have been answered.
• You must receive a minimum score of 80% to pass the exam.
• You may take the exam as many times as needed until a score of 80% or higher is achieved.
• You will receive a Certificate of Passing via email once you achieve a score of 80% or higher.
