House Bill 4504 makes a non-substantive statute reference change to the Government Code related to a Notary's exemption from the requirement to record certain oaths in their journals.

Senate Bill 1780 adds a new authorization for Online Notaries to perform online notarizations on tangible documents and specifies requirements for these online notarial acts.

Senate Bill 2186 addresses concerns with respect to executing anatomical gift records by adding the ability to have these documents notarized, but removes the notarization requirement for online registrations.
House Bill 255 prohibits a Notary from improperly using a seal, allows a Notary to record a government-issued ID card or U.S. passport expiration date in the Notary’s record book, and increases the fees a Notary may charge for most notarial acts.
