What to know when applying to become a Texas Notary Public

  • Make sure you meet Texas Notary requirements. You must be 18 or older, a state resident, and have no felony convictions.
  • A Notary bond is required. To become a Notary in Texas, you must meet the state's eligibility requirements and submit a $10,000 Notary bond with your application. As an authorized provider, we’ll review your application for errors and submit your bond and application directly to the Secretary of State.
  • No training or exam needed. Texas doesn’t require Notary training or an exam, but you can take our online Notary Essentials course to feel more confident in your new role.
