What to know when renewing your Missouri Notary Commission

  • Getting a head start on your renewal is encouraged. You can start the renewal process six weeks before your current commission expires.
  • You’ll complete your training and exam with the state. Before applying, you’ll need to read the Missouri Notary Public Handbook and pass the state-administered exam either online or by paper.
  • The process to submit your application is flexible. You can submit your Notary renewal application either online or by mail.
  • You have 60 days to file your bond. After receiving your commission letter and certificate, you’ll file your bond and take your oath of office at the county clerk’s office.
