Mississippi law requires all Notaries to purchase and maintain a $5,000 Notary surety bond for the duration of their 4-year commission. The Notary bond protects the general public of Mississippi against any financial loss due to improper conduct by a Mississippi Notary. The bond is NOT insurance protection for Mississippi Notaries.

Do I need anything besides my bond?

How to process your bond

Once you have mailed or emailed your pre-commission letter to the NNA, your bond will be issued and mailed to you. Within 60 days of your application, complete your Notary bond and oath and send it to:
