What to know when renewing as a Georgia Notary Public

  • A training course is required! Beginning January 1, 2025, all Georgia Notaries must complete a Notary training course within 30 days of their renewal. The course is provided online by the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority.
  • A Notary journal is also required. Also starting on January 1, all Georgia Notaries Public will need to maintain a journal of notarial acts. It can be a physical, written journal or an electronic one.
