What to know when applying to become a Georgia Notary Public

  • Make sure you’re eligible. You must be 18 or older, a U.S. citizen or legal resident, legally reside in Georgia or are employed in the county you are applying, able to read and write English, and have an operating telephone number.
  • Training may be required. If you’re a resident of Clayton, Cobb, or Fulton County, you’ll need to complete a Notary training course.
