WA Administrative Rules (2022)
Rule/Regulation
Effective: November 22, 2022
Summary
A new Washington rule increases the fee for both a Notary and renewal Notary commission.
Affects
Amends Section 308-30-060 of the Washington Administrative Code.
Changes
- Raises the fee for an application for a Notary Public commission from $30 to $40.
- Raises the fee for an application for a renewal Notary Public commission from $30 to $42.
- Eliminates the prior $15 fee for obtaining a duplicate certificate of commission, including a name change.
- Establishes a $5 license print fee.
AnalysisNotary Public application fees in Washington state were due for an increase, having stayed at the current levels for years. Therefore, an increase of the fees for a Notary and renewal Notary commission was necessary to defray the costs of administering the Notary Public license program.
