Many states allow remote online notarizations, with more adopting it every year. To offer this service, you may be required to have a digital certificate.
- Check with the electronic or remote online notarization platform provider you'll be working with to verify that you may use the "Basic Assurance Digital Certificate" with their system.
- The name entered to redeem the digital certificate voucher with IdenTrust must be the name appearing on your Notary commission. Otherwise, your state may reject your electronic-Notary application, registration, or commission.
- Refunds are not available once the voucher email has been sent.
- Choose the length of your certificate (1-year, 2-year, 3-year) based on the remaining year of your Notary commission term.
- You'll receive your voucher by email with instructions to retrieve your "Basic Assurance Digital Certificate" directly from IdenTrust.
- You will need to have a credit or debit card handy before going to IdenTrust's website to redeem the voucher. IdenTrust will not charge the credit card. Please direct all questions or issues concerning downloading and accessing your new digital certificate to IdenTrust.
