  • Avoid a lapse in your commission by renewing early. You can submit your renewal application up to 120 days before your current commission expires.
  • Renew the same way you applied. Renewing your commission follows the same process as becoming a new Notary in Washington. Start by completing your Notary application online.
  • No training or exam needed. Renewing Notaries in Washington are not required to complete a training course or pass an exam.
  • Serve for another four years. Once approved, the Washington State Department of Licensing will appoint your commission for another four-year term.
