Summary

House Bill 986 increases the maximum fees a Notary may charge. 

Affects

Amends Section 47.1-19 of the Code of Virginia. 

Changes
  1. Increases from $5 to $10 the amount a Notary may charge for taking an acknowledgment with respect to a paper document, administering and certifying an oath, certifying affidavits and depositions of witnesses, and certifying a copy of a paper document.
