Notary Advocate and Legal Expert Patricia Fry Receives March Fong Eu Achievement Award

LOS ANGELES, April 5, 2011 — The National Notary Association, the leader in best practices, training, and advocacy for the nation’s 4.8 million Notaries, has named Patricia B. Fry as its 2011 March Fong Eu Achievement Award recipient for her outstanding leadership and tireless efforts to strengthen the importance and value of Notaries Public in the digital age.

As a long-time member of National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL), Fry chaired the organization’s Drafting Committee that authored the Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts, a model law published in 2010 that — along with Model Notary Act — serves as the basis for state to modernize and strengthen their Notary statues.

“Throughout her career, Patricia Fry has been a true visionary,” said NNA Chief Executive Officer Marc Reiser. “Her leadership and steadfast dedication has done so much to solidify and enhance the office of Notary Public in our technology-driven world.”

The formal award presentation will take place at the NNA’s 33rd Annual Conference, held May 22-26, 2011 at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

For nearly 40 years, Fry has taught business transaction law at a number of universities and has helped pioneer the evolution of the law to adapt to new technologies. She has served on numerous committees with the American Bar Association and NCCUSL, helping shape the way commerce can be done in an electronic age. In the process, she has been a steadfast champion to support the role of the Notary and protecting the public.

Since 1979, the March Fong Eu Achievment Award has been bestowed upon an individual in recognition of significant achievements to improve the standards, image and effectiveness of the office of Notary Public in the United States.
