Hotline Tip: What Is A Living Will?

NNA Hotline Tip Logo

A “living will” is a written statement of a signer’s wishes regarding medical treatment in the event the signer is incapacitated and unable to give instructions.

A living will should not be confused with a last will and testament. Despite the similarity in titles, they are completely different documents. A living will can be notarized normally without special instructions from an attorney or other restrictions.
