NNA White Paper Advises Employers To Create Notary Oversight Plan To Comply With State Laws, Mitigate Risk

Los Angeles, California - September 07, 2011

LOS ANGELES, September 7, 2011 -- The National Notary Association, the leader in best practices, training, and advocacy for the nation’s 4.8 million Notaries, has released a new White Paper entitled “An Employer’s Guide to Managing Its Notary Workforce,” which provides guidance to organizations that employ Notaries on how to properly supervise, educate, and manage their Notary-employees.

While appropriately qualified and supervised Notaries can reduce an organization’s exposure to risk and fraud, inadequately trained Notaries or improper notarizations can jeopardize a company’s reputation, impact its profitability, and cause legal problems. The White Paper addresses the specific ways organizations can create and implement an effective Notary management and oversight plan to ensure proper notarial procedures and protect themselves against liability.

“By having a solid understanding of the role of the Notary and creating clear notarial procedures, organizations that employ Notaries will manage their workforce more efficiently, and mitigate their company’s risk and protect their reputation,” said National Notary Association’s Chief Executive Officer, Marc Reiser.

The White Paper was produced as part of the NNA’s Notary Supervisor Training Program, an online course offered to managers, supervisors, and employers of Notaries, designed to reduce an organization’s exposure to liabilities caused by notarial errors or misconduct.

Interested parties can download “An Employer’s Guide to Managing Its Notary Workforce,” via the NNA’s Web site.
