MARYLAND The National Notary Foundation has awarded Prince Georges Community College a scholarship endowment to benefit its Notary education program in the name of the National Notary Associations 2009 Notary of the Year Elaine Wright.
Wright and NNA Vice President William A. Anderson personally presented the endowment to Daniel Mosser, Vice President for the colleges Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division in August on behalf of the National Notary Foundation.
With Notary education and personal achievement being top priorities for the Foundation, a contribution to Prince Georges Notary education program is most fitting, Anderson said as he presented the endowment to Mosser.
Prince Georges Community College is grateful to the National Notary Association for recognizing Elaine Wrights accomplishments and dedication, said Mosser. The scholarship will assist students in pursuit of a Notary signing agent career.
Wright, a Mitchellville resident who was honored as the NNAs Notary of the Year at its annual Conference in Las Vegas, selected the college to receive the endowment. The NNA makes the annual scholarship grant in cooperation with the National Notary Foundation to honor the special contributions and achievements of the Notary of the Year.
Since 2002, Wright has served as an adjunct Notary Public instructor for Prince Georges Community College. During that time, she has developed a curriculum of 15 classes covering basic to advanced notarial procedures. Prince Georges Community College Notary procedures classes are recognized by the Notary Affairs Division of the Office of the Maryland Secretary of State.
