I’ve been asked to notarize a copy certification by document custodian, but the passport holder is only three years old. Who should sign in this case? - D.P., Oakland, CA
In the case of a young child, you are actually being asked to notarize the signature of the person requesting the notarized copy, or the custodian of the document. Generally, this would be the parent or guardian of the minor.
