Hotline Tip: Can A Notary Have More Than One Stamp Or Embosser?

Can a California Notary have two stamps and two embossers? I would like to have one set that I keep at home and one set for work. – J.K., Pasadena, CA

California Notaries are allowed to have two stamps and two embossers; however, you may only have one journal that contains all of your notarial acts.

Hotline answers are based on the laws in the state where the question originated and may not reflect the laws of other states. If in doubt, always refer to your own state statutes. — The Editors
